1. colour film has narrower DR compared to bw.
this is one reason many pros refused to go over to colour film in the old days..
converting from colour to bw wont increase information. The best you can do when turning it to bw is to retain what it has. so naturally it won't be better than bw.
2.The latest CMOS sensors (e.g. pentax k-5) can cover 14 stops. so if you take a picture using this kind of sensor then very likely you'd retain more details in a high dr scene than the one shot with black and white film.

怎么才能看出一台相机的宽容度? 一般机子的性能里好像没有看到过有这个指标。。。
原来Pentax k-5 就是大名鼎鼎的“宾得645中幅”家族的啊,是不是有了K-5的14Stops范围,就不必玩黑白胶片了? |
